Edward C. Woodman Sr.

August 8, 1949 — March 5, 2022

WASHBURN – Edward C. Woodman, Sr., 72, died March 5, 2022 at the Aroostook House of Comfort surrounded by family. He was born in Washburn, August 8, 1949 the son of Ellsworth and Delores (Clayton) Woodman. Edward was a graduate of Washburn High School, and then took college classes at Ricker College, and at University of Maine at Presque Isle and at Orono. He worked various jobs including in the potato factory in Washburn, and at Wellsley College in Boston – but found his true calling as a caregiver to his wife and children. He took wonderful care of his wife, Elaine, who had M.S. and was wheelchair bound for most of their married life, and was very devoted to raising their children. Ed was a very loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and friend. He was very loved by so many who knew him – especially for his kind nature. Ed enjoyed cooking, arts and crafts, electronics and going to church. For the past seven years the Presque Isle Rehab and Nursing Center was his home, and made many friends during his time there.

He was predeceased by his wife, Elaine Sharon (Borden) Woodman, in 2007. Ed is survived by his parents of Washburn, his two children, Edward Woodman Jr. of Washburn, and Shelby Willett and husband Randall of Caribou, his brothers, Russell Woodman and wife Gail of Castle Hill, and Wallace Woodman and wife Becky of New Hampshire, his sister, Sandra Jacobs, of Presque Isle, his grandchildren, Alexa (Woodman) and husband Luke Dionne, Randall Willett II, and Victoria Willett, his great-grandchildren, Bella, Anna, and Joby Dionne. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family members.

The family will host a funeral service on Saturday, March 19, 2022 at 12PM, at the Washburn Pentecostal Church, 1202 Main Street, Washburn, ME with Pastor Bruce Blakney officiating. Following the service all are invited to a time of continued fellowship and refreshments. Arrangements by Mockler Funeral Home, Caribou.
