Caribou-Wilmer A. Tardie, 83 died June 27, 2012 at Caribou. He was born in Eagle Lake July 30, 1928 the son of the late Eloi and Mamie (Albert) Tardie. Mr. Tardie served with the US Army during WWII and was a member of the Lister Knowlton Post 9389 VFW. He was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church and was also an active member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. Mr. Tardie was employed as a meat cutter at Paradis IGA in Fort Kent, Sleepers of Caribou and retired from the Loring Air Force Base commissary after 29 years of service. He also owned and operated Tardie’s Rolling Meat Market in the St John Valley for a number of years. He is survived by two sons and daughters in law; Greg and Marianna Tardie of Springfield, N.J and Mark and Jennifer Tardie of Caribou. Two daughters and a son in law; Sharon Berz of Caribou and Pamela and Joseph Mattos of Oakfield. Three sisters; Albertine Nadeau of Sherrill, N.Y. Christine Lamarre of Plantsville, Ct. and Delores Tardie of Woodland. Tweleve grandchildren; Jean- Louis, Ulyianna, Indira, Adia, Sara, Susie, Destinee, Jasmyn, Mindy Leigh, Matthew, Justin and Emily. Three great grandchildren, Christina, Matix, and Wyatt. Several nieces and nephews. Mr. Tardie was predeceased by his wife, Doris (Cyr) Tardie, in 1999 a son Michael, and brothers and sisters, Ernestine Lemieux, Albert, Elmer, Alvin and Gail Tardie. Friends may call at the Mockler Funeral Home 24 Reservoir Street Caribou Thursday from 7-9PM and Friday June 29, 2012 11:00 am until time of services. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 12:30 pm from the Parish of the Precious Blood. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery at 4:00 pm Friday. Following the service all are invited to a time of fellowship and refreshments at the Parish Center.
