Presque Isle – William Patrick Urban, 67, died unexpectedly July 3, 2014 at his Presque Isle residence. He was born in Topeka, KS, April 4, 1947 the son of the late Eugene and Margaret (Glover) Urban. He attended elementary in Topeka, KS and then moved with his mother to Swindon, England where he completed his schooling at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic School. He served in the US Army and the US Navy during the Vietnam War. Bill worked for many years with the British Postal Service and upon returning to the United States was employed by the United States Postal Service, retiring in 1993. Bill loved to travel and recently spent a couple of months visiting his sister in England, a trip he truly enjoyed. He loved his friends, family, and pets – especially his little dog Sandy whom he called his Princess. He served on the board of directors for the Central Aroostook Humane Society. He is survived by his significant other of 26 years Colleen Cochran of Presque Isle, his brother Gary Urban and family of Swindon, Wiltshire, England, a very special sister, Shirley Hyland and her husband Richard and niece Janet and nephews Mark and David all of Swindon, Wiltshire, England. Bill will also be missed by his good friend Jim Dunleavy, Sr. Friends may call at the Mockler Funeral Home 24 Reservoir Street, Caribou 6-8pm Wednesday and 1-2pm Thursday. Funeral services will be held 2pm Thursday July 10, 2014 from the chapel of the Mockler Funeral Home with Rev. Roger Jewell officiating. Interment will be in the Fairmont Cemetery, Presque Isle.
