Caribou-William W. Shaw, 84, died May 21, 2011 at Bangor. He was born in Caribou March 9, 1927 the son of the late Harry and Elsie (Wright) Shaw. Mr. Shaw served with the US Navy during WWII, was a member of the Henry B. Pratt Post 15 American Legion and was also a life member of the Lister Knowlton Post 9389 VFW. Bill worked with his father at Harry’s Auto in Caribou for a number years. He then was employed by the civil service at Loring Air Force Base in the publications office for many years. Bill was an active member of Caribou Lodge #170 A.F & A.M where he served a lodge treasurer for many years. He was a member of the Anah Temple Shrine and was involved with the annual Anah Temple Shrine Circus. Bill also devoted countless hours to the area DeMolay and Rainbow Girls organization for many years. He loved to collect coins and was an active member of several coin clubs and was instrumental in the minting of numerous Caribou area commemorative coin collections. Mr. Shaw was predeceased by his first wife, Helen (Good) Shaw, two sons Danny and Billy Shaw, a sister Elme Anderson and a grandson Elliot Larson. He is survived by his wife LuAnn (Stackhouse) Shaw of Caribou, two daughters, Paula Lowrey of Helotes Texas and Jeanne Shaw of Bradley. Three stepchildren; Jodi Hudock of Spotsylvania, PA., Debra Calvitto of Nottingham, N.H and Kenneth Stackhouse of Caswell. Three sisters, Elizabeth Thompson of Durham, N.C, Marjorie Webber of Sydney and Jeannette Shaffer of Belfast. Two Grandchildren, Joshua and Krista Anderson. One great grandchild. Jasmine Anderson. Several nieces and nephews. Friends may visit with the family at the Mockler Funeral Home 24 Reservoir Street Caribou 12:00 noon Saturday May 28, 2011until time of services. Memorial services will be held at 1:00pm Saturday from the funeral home with Rev. Josh Burden officiating. Interment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. Friends who wish to contribute in memory of Mr Shaw may do so through Caribou Lodge Memorial Fund or the Shriners Hospital.
