CARIBOU – Wilfred H. Cote, 87, died January 16, 2023 at Bangor. He was born in Caribou, November 26, 1935 the son of Henry and Louise Ann (Ouellette) Cote. Wilfred attended Caribou schools, and was employed as a store manager of Caribou By-Lo IGA for over 40 years. He was a communicant of the Parish of the Precious Blood Holy Rosary Catholic Church, and married Glenice Keaton on July 3, 1976. Mr. Cote was an avid outdoorsman, and loved hunting, fishing, and picking fiddleheads each spring. Surviving in addition to his wife of Caribou, are his son, Kenneth Cote and wife Michele of Papillion, Nebraska, and step-children, Jeffrey Michaud and wife Debbie of Caribou, and Peggy Nichols and husband Tracey of Zellwood, FL, two brothers, Gilbert Cote of Stafford Springs, CT, and Galen Cote of East Hartford, CT, two sisters, Louise Olmstead of Fort Fairfield, Joan Plourde of New Britain, CT, 5 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Curtis Cote, a daughter Lorrie Cote, a sister, Lorraine Currier, and two brothers, Emile and Delmar Cote. Friends may visit with the family at Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir Street, Caribou on Friday, January 27, 2023 from 1PM until time of services. A prayer service will be held at 3PM from the chapel of the funeral home with Burnham Morrell officiating. Spring interment services will be held at New Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery at a later date.
