Wilena Ann Sullivan

July 4, 1940 — January 17, 2025

Washburn

Surrounded by her loving family Wilena Ann (Kelley) Sullivan, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and faithful servant of God, passed peacefully into the arms of her Savior on January 17, 2025. Her 84 years of life were a testament to love, grace, service, and unwavering faith. Born on July 4, 1940, in Allagash, Maine, to William and Anne (O’Leary) Kelley, Wilena grew up with a strong foundation of family values and community. She attended Allagash schools and graduated from Fort Kent High School. On March 16, 1962, she married the love of her life, Raymond Sullivan, beginning a beautiful marriage that spanned over 62 years. Their marriage, which was built and centered around Christ, was a testament to commitment, grace, and devotion to each other. They weathered life’s joys and challenges hand-in-hand, building a marriage rooted in trust, respect, and unwavering love. Wilena was a steadfast presence in her family’s lives. She was a loving mother who guided her children with wisdom and strength, a doting grandmother who created cherished memories, and a proud great-grandmother whose joy multiplied with each new generation. Her husband and family were her pride and joy. Her legacy will live on in their hearts forever. As the devoted wife of a pastor for many years, Wilena embraced her role as a cornerstone of their ministry. She faithfully served not only as a pastor’s wife but also as a bookkeeper and office manager where she served with diligence and joy. Her dedication extended far beyond the tasks she performed—she was at the heart of the church, nurturing relationships, encouraging those around her, sharing a kind word, offering a heartfelt prayer, reaching out a helping hand, or simply being present in the lives of others. She reflected Christ’s love in all she did. Wilena is survived by her husband, Raymond Sullivan of Washburn, ME; her two daughters: Shelley Burns of Utica, NY, and Sue Showers and husband Ron of Ozark, MO. Her legacy is also carried on by her cherished grandchildren: Kelsie Burns Lotito and husband George, Kyle Burns, Cody Burns, and Tiffany Showers Goade and husband Miles; her precious great-grandchildren: Charlotte, George, and Vivienne Lotito, and Amelia Goade; her sister, Mollie Schleehauf and husband Klaus of Bloomfield, CT; her brother, Gordon Kelley and wife Yvette of Enfield, CT; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and countless friends.A celebration of Wilena’s life will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at Caribou Assembly of God Church (116 Sweden St, Caribou, ME) with Pastor Michael Hood officiating. Greeting and visitation will begin at 10:30 a.m. followed by a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. A time of fellowship will take place immediately following the service in the church’s activity center with a lunch being served. Wilena’s family finds comfort in knowing she is now in the presence of her Savior and reunited with loved ones who have gone before her. Though her presence will be deeply missed, her love and legacy will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
