Wendell A. Ricker

September 24, 1941 — June 16, 2021

CARIBOU - Wendell A. Ricker, 79, passed away June 16, 2021 at home with his wife at his side. He was born in Skowhegan, September 24, 1941 the son of Clarence and Lucille (Burns) Ricker, Jr. Wendell attended the Clinton Schools, and then proudly enlisted in the United States Army serving during the Vietnam War. Mr. Ricker worked both as a truck driver, and contractor. He worked at Merrill Transport, Shoppe Ford, and had been self-employed as a contractor. Wendell was involved in several Veteran’s organizations including: Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion Post 1795 in South China where he was Past Commander, American Legion Post 27 in Fort Fairfield, was a Life Member of the Disabled American Veterans, and the Vietnam Veterans of American groups. He was also a life member of the Windsor Fair Association.  

Wendell is survived by his wife, Linda (Lajousky) Ricker of Caribou, his four children, Angela Kuehling of Worms, Germany, Andrew Ricker of Farmingdale, Ronnie Ricker of Augusta, and Tammy Ricker of Yarmouth, one brother, Alan Pinkham and wife Gail of North Anson, 15 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his step children,  Todd Pooler and wife Marcy of Caribou and Jamie Caldwell and husband Scott of Fort Fairfield. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two siblings, Larry Ricker and Pat Grandberg, his very special uncle, James Burns, and the mothers of his children, Bigitta and Judy.

Graveside services with military honors will be held Tuesday, June 29, 2021 at 1pm at the Northern Maine Veterans Cemetery, Caribou.
