Wayne L. Hobbs

WASHBURN - Wayne L. Hobbs, 81, passed away February 5, 2017 at Van Buren. He was born in Caribou December 12, 1935 the son of the late Philip and Autis (Dickinson) Hobbs. Mr. Hobbs was a 1953 graduate of Caribou High School and in 1955 he married Joyce Walton. He was employed by the United States Department of Agriculture for over 25 years and was a longtime member of the Perham Baptist Church. Wayne enjoyed fishing and hunting his entire life, bluegrass and gospel music were his favorite. Surviving in addition to his wife, Joyce of Washburn, is one son, Brian Hobbs of Blanchard, Oklahoma, one daughter and son-in-law, Noreen and Christopher Hodge of Brownstown, Michigan, one brother Philip Hobbs Jr. of Coventry, Connecticut, 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, 5 great great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Mr. Hobbs was predeceased by four brothers, Donald, Dale, Albert, and Keith. Friends may call at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir Street, Caribou Wednesday, February 15, 2017 from 1 to 2 pm. Funeral services will be held at 2pm from the chapel of the funeral home with Rev. David Goupille officiating. Interment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery, Caribou.
