Velma Marie (Madore) St. Peter, 83, passed away on October 4, 2024 at the Maine Veterans Home in Caribou. She was born on September 19, 1941, in Fort Kent, to Michael and Lucy (Michaud) Madore.

Velma attended Fort Kent High School, graduating in 1959. She had a deep faith and was an active member of the Parish of the Precious Blood in Caribou, where she worshipped. Velma enjoyed participating in the choir and prayer groups, finding solace and joy in her religious community. Velma will be remembered for her devotion to her family and faith. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Velma was a beloved mother. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Margo Roberts and husband Robert of Texas, Phillip St. Peter and wife Lisa, Jeffrey St. Peter and wife Marta, Karen St. Peter-Ginish and husband Norm all of Caribou, David St. Peter and wife Denise of Florida, and Malcom St. Peter of Wade. She is also survived by her 15 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and a sister-in-law Marilyn Soble-Hill and husband Gary of Florida and Caribou. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Maynard, her parents Michael and Lucy Madore. Her brothers and their spouses, Louis Madore and wife Patricia and Joseph Valdore Madore and wife Elaine.

Friends are invited to visit with the family on Sunday, October 13, 2024 at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir Street, Caribou from 1PM until 3PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11AM on Monday, October 14, 2024 at the Parish of the Precious Blood Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Interment will be in the Old Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to a time of continued fellowship and refreshments at the Rendezvous following the services. Friends who wish to contribute in memory of Velma are asked to do so through the Holy Rosary Renovation Fund, C/O 34 Vaughn Street, Caribou, Maine 04736.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Maine Veterans Home Caribou and the hospice team for the outstanding care she received.
