Caribou-Thomas Raymond Gagnon, 62 died unexpectedly May 3, 2014 at Caribou. He was born in Van Buren December 20, 1951 the son of Ludger and Eleanor (Potter) Gagnon. He was a graduate of Limestone High School where he was very active in the FFA. He then joined the US Navy, where he received his electrician training at the Great Lakes training center. Mr. Gagnon served with the US Navy for a number of years and was serving in Iceland where he aided with the large scale evacuation of civilians following the 1973 volcanic eruption there. Thomas was an avid outdoorsman and loved to fish. He also enjoyed planting and tending to all types of trees and plants around his home. Thomas was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church. He was predeceased by his father Ludger. Surviving in addition to his mother, Eleanor of Caribou are two brothersand sisters in law Ronald and Marie Gagnon of Caribou, and Wayne and J'Dene Gagnon of Bentonville, Arkansas. Five sisters and four brothers in law; Phyllis and Verlin Reynolds of Deham Springs, LA., Marlene and Kenneth Whitherell of Claremont, N.C., LindaGagnon of Caribou, Charon and Marvin Bickmore of Prattville, Alabama, and Jean and Richard Nadeau of Connor. Many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Mockler Funeral Home 24 Reservoir Street Caribou 6-8 pm Thursday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 am Friday May 9,2014 from the Parish of the Precious Blood, Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Interment will be in the Northern Maine VeteransCemetery.
