Thomas Richard Emmert, 69, died November 28, 2024 at his Caribou residence. He was born in New Kensington, PA, August 17, 1955, the son of the late Richard and Carolyn (Powell) Emmert. He was a graduate of Burrell High School in Lower Burrell, PA, and after graduation enlisted in the United States Air Force. He made his career in the Air Force, earning several commendations while serving during Desert Shield/Storm retiring as Master Sergeant. After his military career, he worked at Northeast Publishing for 21 years. Thomas was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt, fish, and camp. Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his family – especially his grandkids. He is survived by his wife of nearly 50 years, Jo (Duncan) Emmert of Caribou, and their children, Timothy Emmert of Mapleton and Rick Emmert and wife Jessica of Topsham, one brother, Dale Emmert and wife Tracy of New Kensington, PA, 10 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren. Tom was predeceased by his parents, and by two sisters, Alyce Emmert and Evelyn Lucas. Military honors will be rendered on Friday, December 6, 2024 at 10:00AM at the Northern Maine Veterans Cemetery, Caribou. In honor of Tom please consider wearing your favorite flannel or his favorite color, “blaze orange." A time of continued fellowship and refreshments will follow from 11AM until 1PM at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9389, Van Buren Road, Caribou.
