CARIBOU – Thelma M. Cochran, 96, passed away September 3, 2016 at Caribou. She was born in Caribou, August 24, 1920 the daughter of the late Sherman and Nellie (Bubar) Doody. Mrs. Cochran enjoyed volunteering in the community, especially at the Bread of Life Soup Kitchen and was a recipient of the Roger Maris volunteer award. She also loved to play bingo and very much enjoyed going on bus trips around the country to see the beautiful sights. Mrs. Cochran was a member of the Caribou United Baptist Church in Caribou. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Bernard “Bunny” and Theresa Stubbs, two daughters and a son-in-law, Barbara Loggans and husband Donald and Shirley Fortin, a daughter-in-law, Betty Stubbs all of Caribou, and a sister-in-law, Irene Wheaton of Portland, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren , nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her first husband, Lothrop Stubbs and her second husband, Richard Cochran, a son, George Stubbs, and her siblings. Friends may visit with the family Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir Street, Caribou from 2pm until time of services which will be held at 3pm from the chapel of the funeral home with Pastor Troy Heald officiating. Following the service, all are invited to a time of continued fellowship and refreshments at the fellowship hall of the former Universalist Church.
