Caribou - Linda Townsend Soucier, 79, passed away peacefully December 11, 2018 surrounded by her family. She was born on April 10, 1939 in Caribou, to Ned Townsend and Hope Stewart. Although she was known by many labels including loving wife, dedicated mother, and faithful friend, she always took the most pride in simply going by Nana. Although Nana’s family spans the entire East coast, she stayed very involved in their lives by liking or commenting on every single Facebook post they ever made. Linda is survived by her husband of 44 years, Daniel Soucier of Caribou; her children, Julie and husband Dennis Tucci of Presque Isle, Scott Watson and partner Cheryl Marshand of Presque Isle, Eric and wife Cindy Watson of Georgia, Karin and husband George Howe of Wade, and Levi and wife Lisa Soucier of Presque Isle; her grandchildren, Sarah and husband Josh Dennison, Bryan and wife Amanda Schurman, Kayla and wife Jess Bates, Clara and Kellen Watson, and Dana Soucier; and her great-grandchildren, Jaxon and Mallory Schurman and Behr and Dakota Dennison. Linda lived a fulfilling life and enjoyed her work at Cary Medical Center in various positions. She enjoyed listening to Christian music and always attended her weekly bible study group. She was very committed to her faith and could be found at the Family Christian Center every Sunday morning. That is, unless she had a family gettogether at Karin & George’s house planned on the same day. Family always came first to Linda and she could always be counted on to bring a Jimmy cake or her famous taco salad to any celebration. She was an avid game player and was always the first to volunteer to play cribbage at a family gathering. Through her faith, Linda lived a simple life that embodied the values that were most important to her. As she shared with her family members before her passing, she was not afraid of dying and devotedly believed in God’s plan for her. Although she will be missed deeply, Linda would want us to celebrate her life and to remember the words of John 14:27, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and afraid.” A celebration of Linda’s life will be held on January 19, 2019 at 11:00 AM at the Family Christian Center in Presque Isle. Donations in Linda’s memory can be made to the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network, One Bowdoin Mill Island, Suite 300, Topsham, ME 04086.
