CARIBOU – Simone Thibodeau, 86, passed away February 26, 2021 at Caribou. She was born in St. Anne, New Brunswick, Canada, September 29, 1934 the daughter of Joseph and Alma (Bergeron) Ouellette. On August 9, 1955 she married Norman Thibodeau, and together they shared over 65 years of marriage. Simone attended French school in Canada in her early years and was a graduate of the adult education night program in Presque Isle. She lived in Caribou for many years and was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Simone was very active in the church and its groups - serving as an Eucharistic minister, as a Past-Vice President of the Ladies of St. Anne, and as Past-President of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus where she was also a life member. Simone was a Godmother to 9 children and also loved to support missionary causes. She is survived by her husband, Norman of Caribou, three sisters, Lucienne Bernier and Rachel LeBlanc of Edmundston, NB, Therese Levasseur of St. Francois, NB, sister-in-law Ida Ouellette(wife of Albert) of St. Francois, sister-in-law Loula Ouellette(second wife of Reno) of Baker Lake, and her many nieces and nephews – whom she loved so very much. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister Antoinette and her first husband Camille Bonenfant and her second husband Adrien Bosse of St Francois, her three brothers, Lawrence Ouellette of St Anne, NB, Albert Ouellette of St Francois, NB, and Reno Ouellette of Baker Lake and his first wife Leola Dionne Ouellette, of Clair NB, brother-in-law Leo Bernier(husband of Lucienne) of Edmundston, NB, and brother-in-law Fernand Levasseur(husband of Therese). Spring interment will take place in the St. Louis Catholic Cemetery (Fort Kent).
