LIMESTONE – Shirley Jean Willey Devoe, 87, wife of the late Arthur Devoe, passed away June 18, 2016 at Van Buren. She was born in Limestone, July 31, 1928 the daughter of the late Bertie and Lillie (Hovey) Willey. Mrs. Devoe was a loving devoted wife and mother, who assisted her husband in the operation of their family farm in Limestone for many years. She was a lifetime member of the Limestone Historical Society and was also a member of the Pythian Sisters. Shirley loved to sew, crochet, and knit bonnets for many newborn babies. She was a member of the Maine Agri-women and also delivered Meals on Wheels in the Limestone area for many years. She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Lewis and Debbie Devoe of Vassalboro, Thomas and Kristi Devoe of Limestone and Wallace and Brenda Devoe of Gray, her grandchildren, Brad Devoe and wife Helen, Ryan Devoe and wife Christina, Mark Devoe, Kelly Page and husband Scott, Tadd Devoe and wife Melissa, Jamie Devoe-Pratt, Corey Devoe, Heidi Dorr and husband Jeff, Greg Merrithew and wife Heather, great-grandchildren, Austin and Wyatt Devoe, Maegan Page, Taylor and Thomas Arthur Devoe, Caleb Young, Jack and Onagh Merrithew. Mrs. Devoe was predeceased by her husband Arthur, June 25, 2013, a son, Hughie, three sisters, Dorothy Scarano, Eva Parker, and Ellen Damon and a brother, Harold. Private family services will be held at a later date. Those who wish to contribute in memory of Mrs. Devoe may do so through the Limestone-Caswell Historical Society.
