Sherman Whitmore

October 4, 1932 — July 20, 2014

Perham - Sherman Lloyd Whitmore 81, died July 20, 2014 at Perham following an extended period of declining health. He was born in Fort Fairfield October 4, 1932 the son of the late Sherman and Mina (Bourgoin) Whitmore. Mr. Whitmore served with the US Army during the Korean War and was employed by several area potato growers and logging operations. He is survived by his children; Marilyn Stetson and husband George of Rockland, Alice Kneeland and husband Keith of Easton, Sherman Whitmore of Caribou, twin sons Jim Whitmore and wife Ruth of Alaska, John Whitmore and fiancé Cecile Tracy of Wade, Bob Whitmore, Gary Whitmore and wife Denise, and Vicky Carlson and husband Gary all of Perham. Many grandchildren and greatgrandchildren. Mr. Whitmore was predeceased by a son Ralph. A graveside service with military honors will be held 1:00 pm Thursday July 24, 2014 at the Northern Maine Veterans Cemetery with Rev. George McLaughlin officiating.
