Charles Sczuroski

CARIBOU – Charles Emile Sczuroski, Sr., 84, went to be with his Lord on May 23, 2023, at Caribou after an extended illness. Born in Pawtucket, RI, on March 7, 1939, the son of the late Henry and Loretta (Rappineau) Sczuroski.
He served his country as a member of the US Air Force, where he was a B52 Aircraft mechanic. After his military service, he joined the Pawtucket Police Department and retired as a detective after 25 years of dedicated service where he received many awards and commendations. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Caribou. Charles was an active member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church where was a church greeter, served as a eucharistic minister for many years. as well as being on several other committees and groups. During his life, Charles enjoyed many hobbies and pastimes, including golfing, dancing, bowling, and painting, which he received many awards for his artwork.
He met the love of his life, Donaldine (Dumont) Sczuroski of Van Buren, and they were married for 44 years before her passing in 2003. He is survived by his five children: Charles E. Sczuroski, Jr., and his wife, Susan (Kershaw) Sczuroski of Pomfret, CT, Lynn Sczuroski and her longtime partner, Ralph Fantasia, of Woodland, Tina Pereira and her husband, Ronald Pereira, of Pawtucket, RI, Timothy Sczuroski and his wife, Lisa (Cyr) Sczuroski, of Presque Isle and Stephanie Douglas and her husband, Raymond Douglas III, of West Warwick, RI. He was blessed with 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his wife of over 15 years, Agnes Porter, of Caribou. Mr. Sczuroski was predeceased by his sister, Dolores Coloumbe, and his brother, Henry R. Sczuroski.
Friends may call at Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir Street, Caribou, Friday, May 26, 2023 from 6 to 8 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating his life will be held at The Parish of the Precious Blood Holy Rosary Church in Caribou, Saturday, May 27, 2023 at 11am. Interment with military honors will be in the New Holy Rosary Cemetery.
