Scott C. Weatherhead

June 4, 1945 — April 24, 2022

Limestone – Scott C. Weatherhead, 76, passed away peacefully, although unexpectedly, at his home on April 24, 2022.  He was born in Caribou June 4, 1945, the son of the late Verne and Ethel (Cyr) Weatherhead.  He grew up in Limestone on the family potato farm with his four brothers and one sister.  He married Judith (Judi) Tracy on March 25, 1966 and settled on the family farm where they raised their two girls and where he spent his career farming with his brother and best friend, Jimmy.  He was a quiet and private person.  A farmer's life is not always an easy life, and Scott's acts of generosity were often only noticed by the recipient and those closest to him.  He loved the solitude and routine of farm life. He also ventured Downeast once a year or so as another joy was spending quiet time on the Maine coast watching the fishermen and enjoying fried clams.  He would spend many hours later in life driving the field roads on and around the Weatherhead farm and neighboring farms.  All who know Scott, knew he only drove an El Camino.  He owned 16-17 throughout his life and was always searching for the "next" one.  It was not uncommon to see Scott driving somewhere through town, the family farm or stopping to visit someone in his latest El Camino. He is survived by and will be deeply missed by his faithful wife of 56 years Judith "Judi" (Tracy) Weatherhead and his two loving daughters, Staci Lynn Goff (Jeff) of Nashville, TN and Heather Sue Patterson of Hampden, his first granddaughter and pride and joy, Mackenzie Lyn of Burlington Vermont, Jill Morgan Goff Duane (Quentin) of Nashville, TN and Claire Megan Goff of Portland. Scott had just learned he was to be a great-grandfather with Jill and Quentin's first child due in November. He is also survived by his brothers; Franklin Weatherhead of Van Buren, James Weatherhead (Kathy) of Limestone and his sister Jane Griffeth (Fred) of Limestone.  Surviving as well are several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and longtime friends and buddies. Scott is predeceased by his parents Verne and Ethel Weatherhead, his brothers Vernon and Dale, his step mother Althea and sisters-in-law Janita Weatherhead and Marcella "Kit" Weatherhead. Due to his request, there will be no formal memorial service however a private gathering will be held at a later date.  Those who wish to contribute in his memory may do so to the  Limestone Development Foundation, 93 Main Street, Limestone, ME 04750 c/o Albert Michaud Park Project.
