CARIBOU – Rev. Roy H. Guidry, Sr., 79, went to his heavenly home on June 19, 2022 at the Aroostook House of Comfort in Presque Isle. He was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, September 2, 1942, the son of Nelson and Inez (Ferry) Guidry. Roy was a United Pentecostal Church minister for over 30 years, ministering throughout the country and the world. His evangelist work took him to Africa where he was able to preach and build an orphanage, a mission that was especially meaningful to him and his family. He has a passion for fishing and always travelled with a bible in one hand and a fishing pole in the other. Roy is survived by his wife of 56 years, Kathleen (Deckelmann) Guidry of Caribou, a son, Roy H. Guidry Jr. and his wife Susan of Presque Isle, grandchildren, Jasher, Joel, Grace and Faith Henderson, and Jace Guidry, all of whom he loved dearly. He was predeceased by his parents, a daughter, Sheila M. Guidry Henderson, and his siblings, Nelson “Valentine” Guidry, Jr., and Karen Guidry. Friends may call at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir Street, Caribou, Monday, June 27, 2022 from 12PM until time of service which will be held at 1PM from the chapel of the funeral home. Interment will follow in Fairmount Cemetery, Presque Isle.
