Caribou – Roxann I. Parks, 66, died September 30, 2023 at the Aroostook House of Comfort, Presque Isle, following a brief illness.  She was born in Presque Isle, January 2, 1957, the daughter of Richard and Alberta (Billings) Viel.  Roxann was a 1976 graduate of Presque Isle High School and received her nursing degree from Northern Maine Vocational Technical Institute. She was a charge nurse at Caribou Nursing and Rehab Center for over 30 years.  Caring for her family and her patients was her life.  Surviving in addition to her mother, Alberta of Mapleton, is her daughter Amanda Alward of Woodland, two brothers James Viel and wife Nancy of Presque Isle, Dean Viel of Mapleton, one sister Janet Gagnon and husband Thomas of Mapleton.  Her beloved grandchildren, Evan Alward and Liyla Mae Parks.  Several nieces and nephews.  Roxann was predeceased by her father, two sons Evan and Markie Parks, son in law SFC Daniel Alward and a brother Daniel Viel.  The family would like to extend a sincere and heartfelt thank you to the doctors and staff at both Northern Light AR Gould Hospital and Aroostook House of Comfort for the fine care and compassion given to Roxann and family during her illness. Memorial services will be held 10 am Saturday, October 7, 2023 from the Chapel of the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir Street, Caribou.  www.mocklerfuneralhome.com
