CARIBOU and WALLINGFORD, CT – Philip Louis Rossignol, 89, passed away December 24, 2019 in Caribou after a period of declining health. He was born in Stockholm, January 20, 1930 the son of the late Denis and Delphine M. (Lagassie) Rossignol. Mr. Rossignol proudly served in the United States Army from 1951 to 1953. He lived for many years in Connecticut, working at International Silver until they closed, then working for Miller’s Distribution, and as a janitor at the Choate School. Mr. Rossignol was a 4th degree Brother Knight of the Pinta Council 5 Knights of Columbus, and was in the American Legion where he was a member both in Connecticut and in Maine. He is survived by his daughter, Renae Girard and her husband Robert, of Wallingford, CT, his brother, Donald J. Rossignol of Arizona, and Geneva M. Tucker of Texas, a sister-in-law, Barbara Griner and husband David of Meriden, CT, many nieces and nephews in Brewer, Bucksport, Caribou, Houlton, and Meriden, CT, with whom he loved to visit. Mr. Rossignol was predeceased by his wife, Jean, and siblings, Richard and Norman Rossignol, Albertine Ouellette, Earnestine Blanchette, and Pauline Kennedy. A burial will be held at a later date in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Meriden, CT.
