CARIBOU – Ronnie Rohn, 72, died August 15, 2024 at the Maine Veterans Home in Caribou following a long illness. He was born in Quincy, Illinois on June 15, 1952 the son of Walter Wayne and Evelyn Louise (Behymer) Rohn. Ronnie was a graduate of Quincy High School, and then entered the United States Air Force. He proudly served in the Air Force for over 20 years, receiving many medals, badges, citations, and ribbons. Ronnie was an active member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed woodworking, and trips to the beach. Ronnie especially cherished time spent with his family, especially his grandson.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Janet Marie (Moir) Rohn of Caribou, their daughters, Mary Green and husband Jay of Caribou, and Kim Rohn of Brewer, his beloved grandson, Richard E. Perry IV and wife Mireya of Levant, two brothers, Roger Wayne Rohn of Mount Sterling, IL, and Rodney Cecil Rohn and wife Trudy of Silsbee, TX, many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Ronnie was predeceased by a sister, Connie Bruns, and a sister-in-law, Ruby Rohn.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, August 23, 2024 at 11AM at the Parish of the Precious Blood Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 34 Vaughn Street, Caribou. Interment with military honors will be held in the Northern Maine Veterans Cemetery. A beach-themed celebration of Ronnie’s life will be held at the VFW Post 9389, Van Buren Road, Caribou, beginning at 1PM. The family invites those attending to wear one of Ronnie’s favorite styles, a Hawaiian shirt, in his memory.
