Caribou-Bob Crawford, 72 died June 22, 2013 at Caribou following a brief illness. He was born in Houlton March 3, 1941 the son of the late Fred Crawford and Madelyn Stairs Crawford Perkins. He was a 1960 graduate of Houlton High School and shortly after graduation he began his career as controller for General Supply Corporation until its closing in 1992. He then went to work in the office of Powers Roofing and Sheet Metal until his retirement in 2011.He married Judy Randall August 25, 1966 and he was also a longtime member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church. Bob was a forty year member of the Caribou Lions Club, serving in various officer positions, both locally and district-wide. He was an avid outdoorsman and member of the Presque Isle Fish and Game club, where he faithfully volunteered his services for their annual Hunters Breakfast as well as the Sportmans Show. Bob had a passion for fishing and cherished the times spent at his Square Lake camp, whether with his fishing buddies or his faithful companion Sadie. Surviving in addition to his wife, Judy of Caribou, are his daughters and sons in law; Mary and Robert Welch of Katy Texas and Jennifer and Michael Rand of Caribou. His five grandchildren; Eric Tilmont and Gabriel Rand of Caribou, Joshua Rand of Presque Isle, and Nikki and Maggie Welch of Katy Texas. A sister in law and brother in law Gail and Leo Campbell, a brother in law Charles Swetnam, several nieces and nephews. Bob will also be missed by a very dear family friend, Auntie Margaret of Caribou and will also be affectionately remembered as “Crab Daddy” to his like-a-son- Luke Dyer of Van Buren. Mr. Crawford was predeceased by a sister in law Mary Ellen Swetnam. Friends may visit with the family 6-8pm Monday at the Mockler Funeral Home 24 Reservoir Street Caribou. Funeral services will be held 11:00am Tuesday from St. Luke’s’ Episcopal Church with The Reverend Kevin Kinsey, officiating.
