Rita Ewing

CARIBOU -  Rita C. Ewing, 90, passed away May 8, 2020 at Caribou following a period of declining health. She was born in Caribou, April 18, 1930, the daughter of the late Colby and Stella (Allen) Clark.  Rita married Kenneth M. Ewing on November 6, 1948, and together they shared 67 years of marriage until his death in 2015. She was a lifetime member of the Caribou United Baptist Church, where she was active in the Pioneer Girls group and many youth activities. Rita worked for many years as a receptionist at Cary Medical Center’s Physical Therapy department, and spent many hours helping on the family farm on the Hardison Road. Rita will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Mrs. Ewing is survived by 3 children, Kathleen A. Belmain of Caribou, Neil Ewing of Presque Isle, and Clark Ewing of Caribou, 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Rita was predeceased by two sons, Colby and Rodney Ewing, and a great-grandson, Michael Brooker.   Private family services will be held at the Evergreen Cemetery, Caribou.
