Richard J. Ouellette, 69, died February 19, 2012 at Van Buren. He was born at Connor, April 17, 1942, the son of Alfred and Yvonne (Levesque) Ouellette. He was a graduate of the Caribou High School Class of 1960. Richard owned and operated Ouellette’s Market in North Caribou for many years. He was also employed at Pratt and Whitney for 17 years, then he owned and operated restaurants and bowling centers in Waterville, Augusta and at the former Loring Air Force Base before closing. Richard was recently employed at the Aroostook Regional Transportation System. He was a member of the Parish of the Precious Blood Sacred Heart Catholic Church and was a former member of the Elks Club in Augusta. He enjoyed his cars, snowmobiling and 4 wheeling. He was a loving and devoted husband and father to his family and he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He married Velma (Soucy) Ouellette on June 30, 1962. Surviving in addition to his wife of Connor are two daughters April Cyr of Oakland and Lisa Wilcox of Nashua, NH; two brothers Ronald Ouellette and his wife Diane of NC and Rick Ouellette and his wife Diane of Idaho; two sisters Doris Ware and her husband Tom of Mississippi and Nancy Thibodeau and her husband Gordon of Caribou; three grandchildren Chelsea and Lindsay Cyr and Jacob Wilcox and a great grandson Jamison Main. Friends may call at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou 7-9pm Thursday. Funeral services will be held 11:00am, Friday, February 24, 2012 at the Parish of the Precious Blood Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with the V. Rev. Jean-Paul Labrie, pastor, officiating in a Mass of Christian Burial. Spring interment will take place in the Sacred Heart Cemetery.
