CONNOR – Richard A. Martin, 85, passed away December 22, 2016 in Caribou after a period of declining health. He was born in Connor, June 4, 1931the son of Paul and Louise (Pelletier) Martin. Mr. Martin was employed by various businesses in the community, Maine Military Authority, Maine Department of Transportation, and Potato Service, as well as working part time for Guerrette Sales, The City of Caribou, Connor School, and Albert Theriault Farms. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, and a Fourth Degree member of the Fred V. Brescia Council 1870 of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed cleaning cars, playing the guitar, singing, dancing, and gardening. Surviving in addition to his wife, Jeannette (Morin) Martin, of Connor, are two sons, Rick Martin and wife Kim (Guerrette) Martin of Caribou, Ray Martin and wife Donna (Campbell) Martin of Presque Isle, a daughter, Ann Marie (Martin) MacLeod and husband Wayne MacLeod of Vassalboro, grandchildren, Alan and Catie Whitmore, Michael Whitmore, Melissa Whitmore and fiancé Randy all of Biddeford, Michelle and Danny Deprey of Caribou, Sara and Jimmy Donahue of Presque Isle, Tiffany and Justin Smith of Caribou, Jason Martin and fiancé Meagan of Presque Isle, and a granddaughter, who was also is god-child, Stephanie Martin of Connor, a step grandson, Bobby and wife Holly Campbell, great-grandchildren, Hannah, Mariah, Devon, Cassidee, Karter, Alivia, Sam, and a step great-granddaughter, Riera, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Paul and Louise (Pelletier) Martin, sisters, Eva Belanger, Anna Bouchard, and Jeannette Martin, and a great-grandson, Hunter. Friends may call at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir Street, Caribou on Monday, December 26, 2016 from 6-8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11am Tuesday, from the Parish of the Precious Blood Sacred Heart Catholic Church, North Caribou. Following the service all are invited to a time of continued fellowship and refreshments at the parish hall. Interment will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery.
