CARIBOU – Reynold R. Michaud, 85, died March 11, 2022 at his Caribou residence following a lengthy period of declining health. He was born in St. Francis, February 18, 1937 the son of the late Damase “Tom” and Eva (Lowe) Michaud. Reynold was educated in the Caribou schools, and then worked for over 30 years at Kelley Farms and Kelley Packaging in Caribou. He also worked several seasons for R. F. Harris Construction in Caribou, and then worked as a self-employed carpenter until his retirement. On September 9, 1956 he married Lorena Landeen – and together they shared 65 years of marriage. Reynold was an avid music lover and musician. Together Reynold, his son, Kim, and Silas Gustafson formed the band – Country Viking – which was in existence for many years. Later, Reynold and his two sons, Kim and Keith formed the ''Bandoleros'' band with fellow musician and friend Reggie Michaud as well as other local musicians and performed throughout Aroostook County in the late 70's and early 80's. Reynold especially enjoyed his trips to different nursing homes, most often the Maine Veterans Home in Caribou, sharing his music with the residents to lift their spirits. In addition to his wife, Lorena Michaud, of Caribou, he is survived by their four children, Kim Michaud of Caribou, Keith Michaud and wife Dehlia of Anchorage, AK, Konni Savage of Mapleton, and Vicki Lengle and husband Arthur of Barefoot Bay, FL, his only grandchild who was so special to him, Garth Johnson of Stockholm, a brother in-law and sister in-law Alan and Paulette Landeen of Stockholm, and his many nieces and nephews. Reynold also leaves behind many wonderful friends including, Silas and Anita Gustafson, George and Beverly Derrah, Allyson Onyshezak, and Rena Skidgel, who helped Lorena care for Reynold during his illness. He was predeceased by his eight siblings, Arthur, Stanley, Gerald, Winniford, and Geraldine Michaud, Kathleen Searles, Diana McCabe, and Viola Swenson. Graveside services will be held at the New Sweden Cemetery in the spring, at a date and time to be announced in a future edition of the Aroostook Republican by Mockler Funeral Home, Caribou.
