It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our sister Judith Ann Pinette Ackley, 70, at the Caribou Rehab and Nursing Center due to complications from corticobasal ganglionic degenerationJudith was born on January 19, 1950.  She was the fifth child of eight to the late Ralph and Ann Pinette.  She graduated from Caribou High School in the class of 1968.  She graduated from University of Maine at Orono.  Due to her husband Robert’s employment, Judith lived in Germany, Belgium, and Italy over a span of 6 years.  Judith and Bob settled in Laurinburg, North Carolina where she resided for 23 years.  While there, she was a volunteer for 8 years at Scotland Regional Hospice in Laurinburg.  Her husband predeceased her in 2011 after 31 years of marriage.  Judith moved back to her hometown of Caribou in 2016 when her health was declining. Judith leaves behind 3 sisters, Cathie Allen of New Smyrna Beach, FL, Suzanne (Jim) Loberg of El Paso, TX, and Jane Pinette of Caribou, 4 brothers, Peter (Charlene) Pinette of Woodland, Michael (Linda) Pinette of St. Albans Bay, VT, Paul Pinette of Dixon, CA, and Mark (Janice) Pinette of Caribou. She also had several nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews, and cousins.  She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered. Judith’s family thanks the recent staff at Caribou Rehab and Nursing Center and the previous staff at Limestone’s Rising Hill Assisted Living for the loving care they bestowed upon our sister. A funeral Mass and interment will be held at a later date. If interested in recognizing Judith’s life, she would have appreciated if you donate to Halfway Home Pet Rescue in Caribou.
