CARIBOU – Phyllis D. Jalbert Stewart, 91, died January 21, 2024 at the Caribou Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, where she had been a resident for nearly 4 years. Phyllis was born in Caribou, December 24, 1932 the daughter of Joseph and Beatrice (St. Peter) Nadeau. Phyllis attended Holy Rosary School, and worked as a singer for the Northern Raider’s Band, Dave Michaud Band, and various bands in West Plains, MO and Louisiana. Phyllis was a member of the Holy Rosary Church, and of the American Legion Post 15 Auxiliary in Caribou. Phyllis was a gifted singer and guitarist who loved to share music with others. She is survived by her four children, Donna Johnson and husband Tony of Hogansville, GA, Karen Crowley and husband Larry of Caribou, Paul Jalbert of Caribou, and Kenneth Jalbert and wife Elizabeth of Kentucky. Phyllis is also survived by three sisters, Irene, Arlene and Dolores, grandchildren, Michelle Bland, Ashlie Jalbert, Josh Jalbert, Kassidy Jalbert, Carson Jalbert, Zack Jalbert, great-grandchildren, Kaylie Venable, Riylee Groff, and Leah Seal, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, her first husband and the father of her children, Lawrence Jalbert, and her second husband, Bobby Dean Stewart. Graveside services will be held in the spring at the Old Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery.
