Caribou – Pearl V. Drost, 93, passed away peacefully at Sweet Seniors in East Millinocket on July 14, 2024, surrounded by love, and is now in the loving arms of her heavenly Father. Pearl was born in Woodland, June 8, 1931, the only daughter of the late Wilson and Minnie (Carman) Parker. She attended school in Woodland, graduating first in her class, before going on to Caribou High School. She married William Drost Jr. in October 1949. She was a longtime member of the Caribou United Baptist Church, enjoying many great times with her friends in the Golden Years Club. Pearl will be remembered by many as a wonderful cook. She was employed by both the Woodland Consolidated School and the Caribou School Department for many years, where she cooked and served many delicious meals to students. Pearl was a loving, devoted Mother, Gram (Gramma), Great-Grammy, aunt and friend, who put the needs of others first. Her sweet smile, soft spoken voice, sense of humor, determination to be as independent as possible and willingness to help others are just some of the things we will miss about her. She will be missed by many but they will always have their special memories of time spent with her. She is survived by her children Linda Pangburn and husband Alan of Millinocket, Susan Drost of Sacramento, California, William Drost of Orangevale, California, Janice Drost of Sacramento, California, and Michael Drost and wife Patricia of Auburn, California; 7 grandchildren, Scott, Katy(Andrew), Krystal(Austin), Jennifer, Jessica(Mike), Kevin(Erica), and Kyle(Kristine); 12 great-grandchildren, Cole, Chloe, Miles, Bailey, Marcy, Joseph, Emily, Kaia, Kane, Kapri, Ruthie and Weston; 3 step-great-grandchildren, Emily (Ian), Danielle(Andy), Chase(Olivia); 7 step-great-great grandchildren, Jeremii, Jackson, Silas, Vera, Cora, Lane, Colbie; sister-in-law Reba Spiker; a number of nieces, nephews and close friends. Pearl is predeceased by her husband of 55 years, William (Bill), her young son Richard, a special granddaughter- in- law Lisa Pangburn and 4 brothers, Merton, Clyde, Maurice and Leigh. Pearl’s family would like to thank the amazing staff at Sweet Seniors for their compassionate and loving care she received the last few months of her life. She thought of Sweet Seniors as her home and the staff and fellow residents as part of her extended family. A family graveside service will be held Monday, July 29, 2024, at 11A.M. at the Evergreen Cemetery in Caribou. In lieu of flowers, those who wish to contribute in memory of Pearl may do so through the charity of their choice.
