Washburn and Caribou - Peter Edward Doebener II, 61 passed away October 31, 2020 at Caribou following a brief illness. He was born in Anchorage, Alaska, October 19, 1959 the son of Peter and Jo-An (Greene) Doebener. Peter was a graduate of Limestone High School, and attended college in Rhode Island. On June 4, 1988 he married Camille Charette. “Peter Edwards” was employed as the CFO and on-air broadcaster for CanXus Broadcasting-Chanel X radio 97.7 FM for many years. Many will fondly remember his nightly broadcasts and the many live remotes he did in the county promoting events and fundraisers. He was a member of Caribou Lodge #170 A.F. &A.M., He loved to golf and was a longtime member of the Caribou Country club, serving as club president for 6 years. Since 2011, Peter was an active member of the Pines Health Services Board of Directors, serving as vice chair in 2020 as well as serving on numerous committees including the Executive, Finance, Facilities, and Personnel and Nominating Committees. He was also was a member of the Jefferson Cary Foundation serving as President since 2017. Surviving in addition to his wife, Camille, of Washburn and his parents Peter and Jo-An of Limestone are two sons Therron Nichols of Presque Isle and Shawn Nichols and wife Janice of Windham. Two grandsons; Matthew and Harrison. Three brothers; Paul Doebener and wife Debbie of Lincolnville, Jimmy Doebener and wife Nicole of Wyoming, and Gary Doebener and wife Vickie of Limestone. One sister Judi Niedbalski and husband Louis of Wyoming. Several Aunts, Uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Due to COVID-19 limitations, a celebration of Peter’s Life will be held in the spring at the Caribou Country Club.
