CARIBOU - Ora (LaChance) St.Peter, 103.5, went to her Heavenly Home on February 15, 2020 at Presque Isle. Aurore (Ora) Lachance was born on July 26,1916 in Winterville, ME to Paul and Adella (Saucier) Lachance. Ora had 4 Sisters, Corinne Martin, Sophie Clarke, Yvonne Chasse and Marie LaChance. She also had 5 Brothers, Numa, Marc Paul, Samuel (Sammy), Louis, and William (Bill) LaChance. Ora came to Caribou in the early 1930’s to help her sister Corinne with her growing family and while in Caribou she met a handsome and dashing young man, Edmund St.Peter. They married on June 23, 1935 and were together 51 years until his passing in 1986. Ora was a lifelong member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church and her blessings were her Children Carroll, Maynard, Dina and Marilyn. With that family she began the St.Peter dynasty of 14 Grandchildren, 34 Great-Grands and 29 Great-Great Grands Ora was a loving Wife, Mother and Grandmother and Homemaker who had a dry wit sense of humor, which could catch you off guard. Ora loved being a homemaker and she always prided herself on how her home looked. She loved to bake and very rarely did you not find a sweet treat when visiting, She was always there for anyone who needed a helping hand, a kind word, a piece of advice and had the ability to see the rainbow after the storm. After her children left home, she entered the workforce. She worked at Converse where she put her amazing sewing and organizational skills to work. She was an amateur photographer and the thousands of photos that she took is a testament to how she saw life and her family. Ora was predeceased by her parents, her loving husband, all of her sisters and brothers and their wives and husbands, her son, Carroll St.Peter and his wife Charlotte (Chapman) St.Peter, her Son, Maynard St.Peter, her Daughter Dina Plourde Jennings and one Great-Grandson, Michael St.Peter. She is now the Guardian Angel watching over her Daughter Marilyn and Son-in-Law Gary Hill, Daughter-In-Law Velma St.Peter (wife of the late Maynard St.Peter) and one Sister-In-Law Doris St.Peter Pelkey. Ora wanted to make sure she gave thanks to her Daughter Marilyn Soble Hill and husband Gary, Grandchildren Karen St.Peter and her husband Norm, Grandson Jeffrey St.Peter, Granddaughter Jean St.Peter Guy and husband Dylan for all their help, sacrifice and kindness over the years. She would like to also thank her Special Friend Phyllis Brown for being such a good friend and a ray of sunshine to our family. Ora also would like to thank “Father Dave” Raymond and the Eucharist team of Jackie Shaw, Nancy Saucier and Joan McElwain for their visits, kindness and thoughtfulness after not being able to attend church over the past few years. A special thank you also goes out to all those who dropped by to say hello, gave a hug, let her do a beard tug, mailed cards or kept Ora and our family in your prayers. A Special Thank You to all the Northern Light Home Care and Hospice team of Nurses, Social Workers , Care Givers and Volunteers and to Aroostook Home Health staff especially Sara Harvey who made it possible for Ora to remain at home where she wanted to be until her passing. Ora spent her final days at the Aroostook House of Comfort where she was cared for with love, respect and dignity. We ask that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Aroostook House of Comfort, 98 Green Hill Road, Presque Isle, ME, 04769. It was Ora’s wish to not have a viewing, but there will be a Celebration of her life and a Mass of Christian Burial held at Parish of the Precious Blood Holy Rosary Catholic Church on Friday, February 21, 2020 at 10am. A time of fellowship and refreshments will follow at the Church Hall and friends and family are welcome to attend.
