Caribou – Natalie S. Hackett - The world is a darker place and our lives more empty since our beloved mother, Nat, passed away on June 1, 2021, having lived an extraordinary and wonderful 93 years. Mom was a gift to everyone she met, from the very young to her own contemporaries, but most especially to her children and grandchildren. We will never fill the gaping hole her absence brings, but will forever cherish the love and joy she gave to each of us.
Mom was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Fred, her cherished brother and sisters, Joe Solomon, Anna Marie Putnam and Teresa Edgecomb, and her much-loved grandson, Mike Easley. Left to treasure her life and memory are her children, Chuck, Joe and Suzanne Hackett and Jayne Easley; her daughter-in-law, Ann Hackett, and sons-in-law, Steve Strout and Bruce Easley, each with whom she shared very special relationships, her cherished grandchildren and step-grandchildren, Anthony Hackett, Jonathan Hackett (Mozhe), Eric Easley (Emily), Emily Cross (Wesley), Ben Gregory (Erin), Shane Strout (Heather) and Shauna Deans (Shannon), and her well-loved great grandsons, Elijah and David Hackett, her dear cousin Deloris, several much beloved nieces and nephews, their spouses and children, and a host of loving friends.
Two celebrations of Mom’s exceptional life will be held, the first in Virginia on Saturday, July 10th at 12:00 noon, at the Seaford Women’s Club, 100 Club Way, Seaford, Virginia. The second will occur in Caribou, Maine, on September 25th. Committal services will take place at 11:30 at the Evergreen Cemetery, with the life celebration to follow at the Caribou Country Club, where Mom and Dad spent so many happy hours together.
Beautiful, beautiful, Mom, you gave us your unbounded love, your unfaltering support and your unequaled life examples of grace, unselfishness and class. We will deeply miss you for the duration of our own lives, but will forever cherish the immeasurable blessing of being born to you and Dad.
