Myrna Jean Farley Miller, 80, beloved mother and “Nana” went home to be with the Lord after a long illness on May 15, 2024 at the Cary Medical Center in Caribou, Maine.
Myrna was born July 29, 1943 in New Sweden, Maine, the daughter of the late Hervey William Farley and Ola Estella Campbell Farley Anderson, both of Woodland, Maine.
A longtime member of the Caribou community, Myrna worked for Birds Eye food plant and Converse Shoe factory for many years before getting her CNA license in 1980s. She worked for Visiting Nurses of Aroostook and other Visiting Home Care Agencies for over 20 years in the surrounding cities of Aroostook County, until an injury kept her from doing so any longer.
In 2005, She moved to North Carolina to be closer to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. There she gave her life to Christ, which changed the direction of her life forever. She eventually moved back to Caribou, Maine in 2012.
Her favorite pastime was listening to her sister Dotti sing gospel music that she had recorded years ago, before she passed in 2021. Since her conversion in 2005, Myrna trusted in the Lord, until into his hands she commended her spirit.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her sisters Dorothy “Dotti” Farley Carmichael of Corinth, Maine and Joy Farley Cain of Abingdon, Maryland, and her son, Timothy Wayne Miller, of Warsaw, Indiana.
Surviving Siblings are Caroll Farley of Lake Wales, Florida and Wayne Farley and his wife, Cindy Farley, of Woodland, Maine.
Surviving children are daughter Tammy and her husband, Tony Shaw, Sr., of Wilmington, NC., son Ricky Miller and daughter Sherry and her husband, James Bowlen, all of Jacksonville, NC. Daughter, Robin and her husband, Kenneth Poitras, of Ft. Fairfield, Maine, son, Jeffrey Farley, of Presque Isle, Maine and son, Mark Belmain, of Sterling, Massachusetts.
She is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.
Friends are invited to visit with the family on Thursday, May 23, 2024 at the Washburn Pentecostal Church, 1202 Main Street, Washburn, Maine, from 1PM until time of services which will be held at 3PM with the Rev. Bruce Blakney presiding. Interment will follow in the Woodland Cemetery.
