CARIBOU – David O. “Mich” Michaud, 94, passed away January 6, 2021 at Bangor, after a short illness. He was born in Caribou, December 21, 1926 the son of the late Felix and Annie Michaud. Mich owned and operated Mich’s Repair in Caribou, and was a U-Haul Dealer for 20+ years. Mich served in the United States Army during WWII, and was the last of the charter member’s of the Lister-Knowlton Veteran’s of Foreign Wars Post 9389. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 15, the Cooties Pup Tent #7, and a former member of the Caribou Fire Department Volunteer’s. Mich attended the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Caribou. In the 1970’s he was one of six men to complete the longest snowmobile ride in history. He is survived by his three sons, Vincent Michaud and wife Michele of Dover, NH, David Michaud, of Wilton Manor, FL, and Gerard Michaud and wife Mona of Hampden, grandchildren, Travis Michaud and wife Leslie, Bethany Michaud and significant other Kevin, and Pamela Ford and husband Brendon Ford, his great grandchildren, Sophia, Fenix, and Fletcher Ford, a sister-in-law, Rena Goldenberg, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Lillian (Bourgoine) Michaud in 2014, as well as his 12 siblings, special friends, Harvard Holmquist and Lorraine Hemberg – who was a very special companion to him after the death of his wife. To Lorraine’s daughters, thank you for all you have done for Mich. Interment will be in the Northern Maine Veterans Cemetery, Caribou, in the spring.
