Melvin Nelson

NEW SWEDEN – Melvin R. Nelson, 76, died peacefully July 3, 2023 at home in New Sweden. He was born in Caribou, November 21, 1946 the son of Ralph and Frances Nelson. Melvin was a graduate of Caribou High School and was employed as a carpenter and truck driver for many years. He will be remembered as being so generous that he would give you the shirt off his back –literally– we saw him do it.

Melvin is survived by his wife of 55 years, Loretta (Chase) Nelson of New Sweden, a daughter, Nikki Nelson and Rob Morissette, siblings, Warren Nelson of Millinocket and Diana Lewis of Wenham, MA. He is also survived by his Aunt Mary of Leicester, MA, several cousins, nieces and nephews. Melvin was predeceased by his parents, a son, Neil, and a brother, Ronald.
Private family services will be held.
