Caribou-Maynard L. Jalbert, 92 died November 27, 2010 at Caribou. He was born in St. Francis March 9, 1918 the son of the late Samuel and Delia (Jandreau) Jalbert. Mr. Jalbert attended St Francis schools as well as the University of Maine at Presque Isle. He served with the US Army and retired from Loring Air Force Base Civil service as superintendent of grounds following 30 years of service. He was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church as well as the National Association of Retired Federal Employees Chapter 2132 where he was a charter member and served as the associations first President. Maynard loved the North Maine woods, where he worked as a young man. He continued to enjoy the outdoors where he loved to hunt, fish and more especially spend time making many happy memories with his family. He enjoyed his family genealogy and spent countless hours researching his family roots. Maynard will always be remembered for his endearing smile, his positive attitude as well as his endless stories. He is survived by his daughter Lori Guerrette of Presque Isle. Two sisters Gloria McGreal of Portland and Elizabeth Pecoraro of Fort Kent. Two brothers, Raymond Jalbert of Fort Kent and George Jalbert of Soldier Pond. Nine grandchildren: Maynard, Elena, Peter, Brendon, Shawn, Laura, Matthew, Shelly and Ryan. Numerous great grandchildren, one great great granddaughter, a very special son in law and true friend David Guerrette of Washburn. Many nieces and nephews. Mr. Jalbert was predeceased by his wife Dallas (Nyberg) Jalbert, two sons, Sheldon and Brendon Jalbert, a daughter Sharon Ireland, Five brothers, Patrick, Philip, Rexford, Earl and Ervin Jalbert and a sister Lorain Rhodes. A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 am Saturday December 4, 2010 from the Parish of the Precious Blood, Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Following the service, all are invited to the parish center for a time of continued fellowship and refreshments. Interment will be in the New Holy Rosary Cemetery.
