Maynard E. Elliott

Woodland-Maynard E. Elliott, 76, died October 7, 2014 at his Woodland residence surrounded by his family following a brief illness. He was born in Presque Isle March 17, 1938 the son of the late Elvin and Verna (Makepeace) Elliott. He married Sally Madore on November 26, 1960. Maynard attended the Woodland schools and was employed as an automotive technician for several area auto garages. Prior to his retirement he was employed by the Town of Woodland Highway Department. Maynard truly loved family gatherings on holidays and during the summer with games of horse shoes or croquet. He loved to Bar B Que and was the “Bar B Que king”. Mr. Elliott was predeceased by a brother Clarence “Sonny” Elliott and two sisters; Charlotte Campbell and Delores Pelkey. He is survived by his wife of over 53 years, Sally of Woodland, two sons; Alan Elliott and his wife Chris of Caribou and Dan Elliott and companion Susan Belyea of Woodland. Three grandchildren; Rilee, Emilee and Nathan and one great grandchild, Aria. One sister Elaine Elliott, a special cousin Cliff Chamberlain and wife Judy, who were Maynard and Sally’s Saturday night Uno partners. Many nieces and nephews. Friends may visit with the family at the Mockler Funeral Home 24 Reservoir Street Caribou 1:00pm Saturday October 11, 2014 until time of services which will be held at 2:00pm from the funeral home with Rev. George McLaughlin, officiating. Interment will be in the Woodland Cemetery.
