Mavis Bouchard

February 22, 1931 — December 25, 2020

Caribou - Mavis A. Bouchard, 89 passed away peacefully and into the open arms of the heavenly Father on December 25, 2020. Mavis was born in Caribou on February 22, 1931 the daughter of the late Herbert and Pauline (McFarlin) Learnard.

Mavis was predeceased by her son Michael R. Bouchard, her sister, Helen Barker and brothers, Richard (Dick) Learnard, Robert (Bob) Learnard.

Mavis is survived by her children; Carol Bouchard of Eddington, Bonnie Clary of Mineral Wells, Tx and Debra Bouchard of Caribou, Brent Bouchard of Caribou, and Scott Bouchard of Northport, Fl.  Grandchildren; James, Sherri, Jason, Daniel, Scott Byram, Scott Romano and Chance; Great Grandchildren; Daniel, Dillan, Catherine, Ethan, Gabriella and Leah.

Mavis is survived by sisters Edna Giannelis, Joyce Violette, Donna Saggese, Linda Corbin and brothers, Herbert (June) Learnard and Carroll Learnard.

Mavis worked hard her entire life for local farmers, Bouchard Potato Company then Redball Potato Company, Thibodeau Potato Farm where she was known as “Boss Lady” and MECON. Later in life she furthered her education so she could provide compassionate healthcare services at the Caribou Nursing Home or where her skills were needed.

Mavis loved to bake and cook. She created beautiful wedding cakes for family and friends and many other tasty desserts. Everyone especially loved her donuts and Whoopie pies and she was constantly asked to make them. In her younger years she loved snowmobiling with friends, riding in the beautiful open fields and stopping at local eateries. She loved the outside, riding her moped to Van Buren, working in the garden, planting her beautiful flowers and doing puzzles.

Mavis was strong believer in the power of prayer and sent forth her thoughts and prayers for the sick, elderly and especially her children.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Borderview Rehab and Living Center in Van Buren for the friendships. care and support they provided for our mother over past several years. In addition to Cary Medical Center and Eastern Maine Medical Center for the care and compassion shown to our mother.

Due to COVID-19 guidelines and precautions, a Celebration of Life, and interment will be held at a future date. Written condolences can be sent to the family C/O Debra Bouchard, PO Box 551, Caribou, Me 04736.
