Marjorie M. Bell

May 10, 1934 — September 27, 2024

Caribou

Our dear mother and grandmother Marjorie Mae Bell went to be with her Lord and Savior, surrounded by her family, on September 27, 2024 at the age of 90. A natural nurturer and life enthusiast, she was the center of a large and loving family, and a cherished member of the community, leaving behind a legacy of adventure, resilience, kindness, and love.

Marjorie was born in Kincardine, New Brunswick, Canada on May 10, 1934, the daughter of Andrew Irvine and Helen (Gee) Davidson. She attended schools in Canada and graduated from high school as Valedictorian. Marjorie was married to Chester Wyman until his death in 1960. She later married Frederick Emile Bell, and together they enjoyed 23 years of marriage until his passing in 1985. Marjorie and Fred owned and operated Bell’s Body & Paint Shop in Caribou, which she proudly continued to manage until her retirement.

She was actively involved and recognized in several local clubs and organizations. Marjorie was honored to receive the State of Maine Business and Professional Woman of the Year, served as District 41-O Lioness District President of Maine and New Brunswick, received the Red Cross Heroes “Angel Award” and she was the first female President of the Maine Autobody Association. She was a longtime active and devoted member of the Caribou United Baptist Church.

Marjorie was predeceased by her oldest son, Donald Wyman, and survived by his wife Cindy. She will be deeply missed by her six children and their spouses: Norma Thompson and husband Robert of Caribou, Vicki Lizotte and husband Donald of Farmingdale, Frederick Bell and wife Lynn of Cross Lake, Mary Theriault and husband Todd of Connor, Sheila Currie and husband Noel of Presque Isle, and Helen Bell-Necevski and husband Zlatko of Belgrade. She was predeceased by a son-in-law, Paul McLauchlan.

Marjorie is survived by 16 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren, who are each a reflection of her beautiful life. Beloved grandchildren: Travis Wyman, Bryan Thompson, Stephanie Dorr, J’aime Fertig, Joseph Lizotte, Alexander Bell, (her angel) Lindsey Ann McLauchlan, Ian McLauchlan, Justin McLauchlan, Tyler Theriault, Emilee Cousins, Rilee Elliott, Libbee Currie, Maggee Currie, Mikhaila Necevski and Madison Necevski. Treasured great-grandchildren: Bryce, Kaleb, Sydney, Landon, Reed, Mia, Kendyl, Alice, Lucas, Owen, Jackson, Sebastian, Finley, Elsie, Anastasia, Carver, Freya, and Ella.

She is survived by her brother Allison Davidson and his wife Sandra, and predeceased by her sister Pauline “Poppy” Milliken.

Majorie was fondly known as “Gram”. Gram was someone who made everyone feel like somebody. She was a loyal friend and a second mother and grandmother to many. She treasured every relationship in her life. She created a family tree with roots that run deep and branches that reach far and wide. Know you were all cherished and held a special place in Marge’s big heart. Her legacy lives on, not just in those she loved, but in every life we now touch.

We are grateful for the care and support of Mom at Rising Hill, and for the compassion shown to her and our family by the comfort care team at Northern Light AR Gould Hospital.
