CARIBOU – Marilyn (Dube) Pinette, 79, died September 19,2023 at Caribou following a short illness. She was born in Fort Kent, September 6, 1944 the daughter of Alberie and Claudette (Saucier) Dube. Marilyn was a graduate of Fort Kent High School. On October 31, 1964 she married Irvin A. Pinette, and together they shared 46 years of marriage before his death in 2011. Marilyn worked for 30 years taking care of clients that she considered family as a homemaker for the Catholic Church. She was awarded the title homemaker of the year by the Governor for the state of Maine in the early 1990s. Marilyn and Irvin loved to go to the camp and were avid motorcycle riders, often taking long rides with their friends around Maine and Canada. She loved life and traveling, they would take any chance to visit their children, who were both in the Army wherever they were stationed – including Hawaii and Germany. Marilyn was a dedicated mother and foster mother. She dedicated all of her time to her children, and foster children and will be remembered by many including her special foster son, Brandon. Marilyn was a generous person who was always willing to drop everything to help those she loved. She was a strong Christian and leaned heavily on her faith.
She is survived by her two children, Steven Pinette and longtime partner Caroline Andrews and her two children, Megan and Clayton of New York, and Laura Pinette and spouse Christina (Hazel) Casson of Albuquerque, NM, one granddaughter, Danielle Pinette, three brothers, Irvine, Gilman, and Gorman Dube, and a very special family member and friend, Launa Dube. She was predeceased by a brother, Norman Dube. A private gathering to celebrate Marilyn’s life will be held at the Pinette Residence on Saturday, September 30, 2023 from 2PM until 4PM.
