Loueen Davenport

CARIBOU – Loueen Erickson Davenport, 84, died July 1, 2021 at Caribou.  She was born in Caribou, February 17, 1937, the daughter of the late Raymond and Tina (Faulkner) Erickson.  She attended schools in Caribou and graduated from Bob Jones Academy in Greenville, S.C.  Loueen began her career in operator services in 1956 working for New England Telephone and Telegraph Company in Presque Isle, later working in Bangor for the telephone company, and retiring in 1987 under AT&T Company.  Loueen returned to Caribou to care for her ill parents.  In 1995 she married “the love of her life” Russell T. Davenport.   Loueen was a member of the Caribou United Baptist Church, Aroostook Rebekah Lodge, BPW Club and Riverside Grange.  She liked to travel, loved music and enjoyed her cat, “Tigger”.  Loueen is survived by her loving step-daughter Sandra Davenport of Caribou, one brother, Gilman and wife Marjorie Erickson of Caribou, two sisters, Freda Heath and husband Stuart of Southington, Conn., and Bonita Wilcox and husband Carl of Presque Isle, many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Russell, and step-son, “Bucky” Davenport. A Service of Death and Resurrection and Celebration of Life will be held at 1pm, Friday, July 9, 2021, at the Caribou United Baptist Church with Pastor Michael Sullivan officiating.  Friends who wish to contribute in memory of Loueen may do so through the Caribou United Baptist Church – Kids to Camp Program, 74 High Street, Caribou, ME 04736.
