Lillian N. Curtis

 WASHBURN – Lillian N. Curtis, 98, died October 19, 2023 at Caribou. She was born in Washburn, September 12, 1925, the daughter of the late Evard and Irene (Madore) Drake. She was a 1943 graduate of Washburn High School, and in 1945 she met and married Vernal Curtis. Lillian worked on her husband’s family farm, as well as being employed at Taterstate and McCains in Washburn. She enjoyed planting a large garden, as well as picking fiddleheads and strawberries. She is survived by three children, Carol Doody, Ronald Curtis and wife Brenda all of Caribou, and Jeffrey Curtis and wife Alice of Castle Hill, siblings, Betty Berglind of South Carolina, Rodney Drake of Florida, Melvin Drake and wife Janet of TN, and Helen Tompkins of Wade, five grandchildren, eleven  great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Curtis was predeceased by her husband in 1995, and siblings, Wilbur, Marie, Kenneth, and Allen, and a grandson, Allen. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the Mockler Funeral Home 24 Reservoir Street Caribou Wednesday, October 25, 2023 from 12 Noon until time of services which will be held at 1PM with Rev. Bruce Blakney officiating. Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery, Perham.
