Leon Malenfant Jr.

October 5, 1934 — February 17, 2015

CARIBOU and SUN CITY CENTER, FL - Leon Malenfant Jr, 80, entered into his Fifth Day when he died peacefully at his Florida home February 17, 2015 after a courageous battle with brain cancer. He was born in Caribou, the son of the late Leon Sr. and Cecile (Ouellette) Malenfant. Leon is survived by his wife, Mary Dumond of Van Buren, and Sun City Center, FL. He was predeceased by his first wife, Dorilda (Levesque) Malenfant, his son, Stephen Malenfant, and his sister, Thelma Bishop. Leon is survived by daughter-in-law, Karole Johnson Malenfant of Portland,; daughter, Louise and husband Frank Jordan of West Palm Beach, FL; daughter, Donna and husband Mark McCrossin of Caribou; son, Kevin and Wendi Malenfant of Westfield,; Grandchildren: Caleb and Micah Malenfant of Portland,, Samuel and Sara Jordan of West Palm Beach, FL, Scott, Casey, and Molly McCrossin of Caribou,; Kayli and Kori Malenfant of Westfield,; several nieces and nephews; and Mary's loving family. Leon is also survived by siblings: Doris Dubay, Florence Lynch, MaryAnn & Jim Anderson, Theresa & Frank Cerpovich, Valmore Malenfant, Omer & Jennie Malenfant, Twilda Doherty, Maynard & Annette Malenfant, Raymond & Sharon Malenfant, Donald & Sandy Malenfant, Linda Malenfant, Lindle & Brenda Malenfant, Galen & Terrry Malenfant. Leon retired after a 35-year career at Loring AFB Commissary. He was a lifelong member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, sang in the choir, was a lector, Eucharistic minister, and was a member of the Catholic Golden Age Club. He was a Third Degree Honorary Life Member of the Knights of Columbus and a longtime Hospice volunteer. He was also a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe CatholicMission in Sun City Center, FL. There will be a Memorial Mass for Leon onSaturday, June 13th at 10:00am at the Holy Rosary Church in Caribou. The committal will follow at the (new) Holy Rosary Cemetery, followed by a reception at the Holy Rosary Parish Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Feed The Hungry or your favorite charity. Arrangements by the Mockler Funeral Home 24 Reservoir Street Caribou.
