October 14, 1966 — July 31, 2015

WASHBURN – Lee A. Gauvin-Roix, 48, passed away Friday, July 31, 2015, at Boston after bravely fighting a form of the very rare disease of Amyloidosis. She was born in Caribou on October 14, 1966, the daughter of Roland and Stella (St. Peter) Gauvin. She graduated from Caribou High School and Northern Maine Community College and was completing a Bachelor of Science Degree from Husson University. Lee had been employed at MMG Insurance in Presque Isle for 18 years. Lee always enjoyed the simple things in life like spending time with her family and friends, reading, knitting, sewing, cooking and gardening. Surviving in addition to her two beautiful children Caitlyn and Bryce Roix and her husband of 20 years, Tim Roix, all of whom she cherished with all of her heart, are her parents Roland and Stella Gauvin, brothers, Randy, Danny and wife Leana, Timmy and wife Keiko their children Erika and Arisa, sister in law Cheryl DeMerchant and husband Lee and their children Isaac and Sarah as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins. The family wants to thank everyone including families, friends, employers, and more for the kind words, calls, and messages. It was especially helpful knowing that our children were being helped and cared for while we were out of the area. It is a wonderful community that we are privileged to be a part of. Visiting hours are 6-9 pm on Wednesday, August 5th at Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir Street, Caribou. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am on Thursday, August 6th from the Parish of the Precious Blood Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Caribou. Following the service all are invited to a time of continued fellowship and refreshments in the parish hall. Interment will be in the Hillside Grove Cemetery, Crouseville. In honor of Lee, please give someone a hug today, share a recipe, talk with a friend or just enjoy the simple things in life that are so special and leave lasting memories.
