Lantie Kinney

April 30, 1930 — February 4, 2018

Caribou – Lantie Kinney, 87, went home to be with her Lord and Savior February 4, 2018. Lantie was born in Woodland April 30, 1930, the daughter of the late George and Eldena (Nylander) Ketch and was raised with her eight siblings and her grandfather Olaf Nylander. Lantie graduated from Caribou High School in 1948 and Ricker College in 1950. She worked at the Presque Isle Air Force Base until she married Floyd Kinney in 1955. Lantie was an active faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Woodland where she served as a deaconess and Sunday school teacher. Lantie was known for her great cooking. Family meant everything to her. She loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and will be sadly missed. Lantie is survived by her three daughters, Sandy and husband Mel Caldwell, Cindy and husband John Levasseur and Joan and husband Lenny Holmes. Grandchildren Jemma, Chris, Zak, Elanna, Sam, Mel Jr., Monty, Rachel, Cameron and Mackenzie. Great-grandchildren Karson, Natalie, Gia, Maria and Louis Floyd.Her brothers and their wives, Alton and Brenda Ketch and Max and Dianne Ketch as well as a sister in law, Mary Ketch. Lantie was predeceased by her loving husband Floyd, her dear son John, special granddaughter Karli and her siblings, Arlene Monteith, Arnold, Herbert, Lionel, Kermit and Darrell Ketch. Friends may call at the First Baptist Church of Woodland Monday, February 12, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., with Rev. Ron Rosser officiating. Friends who wish to contribute in Lantie’s memory may do so by making contributions to “The Friends of the Nylander Museum” 406 Colby Road, Woodland, Maine 04736.
