CARIBOU - Juliette Plourde was born in Ste Anne, New Brunswick October 12, 1928 the daughter of Laurie (Michaud) and Adesse Perreault. She was predeceased by three sisters, Solange Beaulieu of Ste Anne, Marie May Roussel of St Leonard, New Brunswick and Jackie Roussel of Bristol, Connecticut. On November 24, 2019 at home with her family, Juliette died from congestive heart failure. Juliette married Clarence Plourde on February 25, 1954 and was a devoted wife and mother. She is survived by her husband, three loving daughters Susie Plourde and Carol Wolfington of Sacramento California, and Madeleine and son-in-law Robert Mazerolle of Burlington, Connecticut; Grandchildren Brian (Leigh) of Bristol, Connecticut and Mandy (Dominick Como) of Harrison, Idaho; Great Grandchildren Tracy, Tim and twin babies Eloise and Hazel Rose. She has a surviving sister Marielle Daigle of Edmundston, New Brunswick. She loved and enjoyed her many nieces and nephews. Juliette was a fun loving petite woman with large character. She had great physical and inner strength bolstered by determination. Juliette was happiest when listening to music, working with her plants and flowers, creating beauty in her home, caring for her family, and she always had a much loved cat companion. Her crewel embroidery and needlepoint were beautifully crafted, and later in life she became an avid reader. While she raised her family and was caregiver for her in-laws, Juliette was also a talented seamstress. She made clothing for the family and also earned money by sewing for others. She spent many years as an Avon representative. She was the matriarch of a true farm family. She and her husband, Clarence, had a philosophy that workers were of great importance to their livelihood and should be treated with respect. Her organizational skills were tantamount to the smooth running of house and farm. Juliette kept a meticulous house, and seasonally worked from potato house, harvester to fields. Juliette was a long- time member of the Ladies of Ste Anne and her service to Sacred Heart Catholic Church included preparing youngsters for First Communion and Confirmation in the 1960s. She was a member of American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She was proud of her American citizenship which she obtained in 1962. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11am Saturday, December 7 from the Parish of the Precious Blood Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in the spring. Following the service all are invited to visit with the family for a time of continued fellowship and refreshments at the parish hall.
