NEW SWEDEN – Joyce M. Landeen, 86, passed away May 17, 2021 after a brief illness. She was born at home in Woodland, August 19, 1934 the daughter of the late Lloyd and Madeline (Dickinson) Caverhill. Joyce was a graduate of Caribou High School, and on March 31, 1955 married Milton Landeen. Joyce was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. She worked hard to take care of their home, while raising 5 children and working on the family farm. She was active in the Parent Teacher Association, and also was passionate about raising money for the American Heart Association. Joyce enjoyed going out to eat at the local restaurants, and doing puzzles of all kinds. Above all, Joyce loved her family and cherished the time she spent with them – especially her grandchildren. She is survived by 4 of her children, Michael Landeen and wife Diane of New Sweden, Debra Monti and husband Wade of Woodland, Roxanne Edgecomb and husband Paul of New Sweden, and Gregory Landeen and wife Kelly of Connor Township, a daughter-in-law, Claudette Landeen of New Sweden, a brother Phil Caverhill of Caribou, and a sister, Connie Chapman of Presque Isle, 12 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren. Joyce was predeceased by her husband, Milton in 2005, a son, Sheldon Landeen in 2017, and two siblings, Wendell Caverhill and Barbara Conroy. Friends may visit with the family from 1:00pm until 2:30pm on Monday, May 24, 2021 at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir Street, Caribou. Graveside services will follow at 3:00pm in the New Sweden Cemetery, New Sweden. Those who wish to contribute in memory of Mrs. Landeen, may do so through the American Heart Association, or the ALS Association.
