Joan Marie Dube

June 14, 1932 — February 17, 2023

CARIBOU – Joan Marie Dube, 90, died February 17, 2023 at Cary Medical Center following a period of declining health. She was born in Stockholm, June 14, 1932, the daughter of Eddie and Ida (Lozier) Bossie. Joan attended Caribou High School, and was Miss Stockholm in 1946. Joan was a certified nursing assistant for many years, working at both Caribou Nursing Home and doing private home care for many area seniors. Joan was very active in the Lister-Knowlton V.F.W. Post 9389 Auxiliary and with the American Legion Post 15. She was Past-President and life member of V.F.W. Post 9389 Auxiliary, Past-President of the V.F.W. District Auxiliary, and was Past-President of the Caribou Lioness Club. Joan was a great inspiration to her family. She was stubborn, tough, and loving – most of all she was fun. Joan loved to laugh, and will be missed by many.

She was predeceased by her husband, Raymond J. Dube in 1970, her parents, two children, Gloria Perry and Carolyn McBreairty, and four siblings, Sheldon Bossie, Joseph (Sonny) Bossie, Hilda Sanchez, and Elizabeth Van Nostrand, and a grandson, Scott McBreairty. Joan is survived by three of her children, Vicki Dube-Labrie and husband Donald of New Sweden, Doreen Webb and husband Michael of Eddington, and Tina Dube of Glenburn, a sister, Marilyn Thibodeau and husband Delman of Connor Township, nine grandchildren, Jan Tompkins and husband Jeremy, Jared Willey and wife Sherri, Amy Willey, Chere Charette and husband Butch, Brian McBreairty and wife Victoria, Ransford McBreairty, Raymond Charette, and Tonya DiMillo, and ten great-grandchildren.

The family will host a Celebration of Joan’s life, which will be held on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at 1PM, at the Caribou Boy Scout Hall, 71 Aldrich Drive, Caribou. Spring interment will take place on June 16, 2023 at the Old Holy Rosary Cemetery at 2PM.
