Caribou-Jeannine Lavoie, 82, died March 16, 2018 at Caribou following a long illness. She was born in Saint Quentin, NB Canada, November 12, 1936 the daughter of the late Phillipe and Alfreda (Cyr) Plourde. At the age of 15, Jeannine left home to work as a live in maid and housekeeper for a Physician and his wife in St. Leonard, NB, she then held several positions as waitress, Machine Operator, and business manager. She owned and operated Avon Country Store in Avon Ct for a number of years and retired from Shell Food Mart in East Hartford, Ct. She married James Lavoie November 17, 1956. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother who enjoyed growing her vegetable garden every year and crocheting. She is survived by her husband over 61 years, James of Caribou, her children; Clayton Lavoie and wife Diane of New Port Richie, FL., Steven Lavoie Sr. and wife Julie of Peabody, MA, Laury Lavoie and partner LuAnne Leondar of Dallas, TX., and Lisa Lavoie-Koss and husband David Sr. of Belvidere, VT. Her sisters, Yolande Doucette of St. Leonard, NB Canada, Carmen Castonguay of East Hartford, CT., Yvette P. Lagasse of Caribou, Yvonne Plourde of Saint Quentin, NB, Diane Plourde of Enfield, Ct and Mireille Fraiser of Montreal Quebec. Grandchildren: Dr. Tera Lavoie PhD., Gary Lavoie, Meranda Lavoie, Shaunta Amanda Henderson, Steven Lavoie Jr, Cole Lavoie, Conner Lavoie, David Koss Jr., and James Koss. Great grandchildren; Safyre, Daphne, Isaah, Raya, Anaya and Astrid. Many nieces and nephews. Mrs Lavoie was predeceased by four brothers; Cyr "Pit" Plourde, Carmon Plourde, Leonard Plourde and Richard Plourde as well as two sisters, Anita Plourde and Carolle Plourde. Friends may call at the Mockler Funeral Home 24 Reservoir Street Caribou 9am Thursday March 22, 2018 until time of services. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00am Thursday from the Parish of the Precious Blood, Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Interment will be in the New Holy Rosary Cemetery.
